208V will get you better energy efficiency out of your power supplies. You could run 4 EVGA 1300W per 30amp 208v breaker of a PDU. I would use a PDU like this one to distribute your power to the PSUs.

I think I'm gonna get one of those nf-12. I need the miner a bit more quiet at a longer distance. I can hear it from in my kitchen which is down stairs and around the corner from my stairs and the miner is literally at the top of the stairs. I don't mind hearing it if I'm by my desk or walking up the stairs but not throughout the house. Thanks for letting me know that they are not quiet but from a distance they are not noticeable.

Thanks for the hardware error explaination. So a few hardware errors is almost expected when temps climb, but when hardware errors climb exponetionally, it's a problem. I've cranked the miner up to 300Mhz or about 1Th/s. Temps went up to 61 and 57. Within an hour I got 1 hardware error. It's been at this setting now for almost three hours and still at 1 hw. I like your range of 60-65c it's more realistic to real computing.

Another question...

How do you shut these miners down to say replace a fan or move the miner? Mine came with an antminer motherboard switch. Being a computer geek, I hate just cutting the power. Somehow it feels wrong, but is that what your supposed to do? Just kill the power either with the red antminer switch or the psu switch? Doing this a couple of time switching out fans to try them with temp control lead one board to not respond during initial boot. It was only after full boot and a restart that the board came back online. I can't find a shutdown or turn off setting anywhere, so how dose the rest of you power down your miner for either maintenence or changing a fan?

Have had two S5 running flawlessly for three weeks and today experienced an issue.  One of the two appeared to have frozen.  Perhaps half a day elapsed while both controller and Hash appeared stuck.  Discovered the problem by observing lower than expected Hash on Eligius and traced it back to the specific S5 by addressing it, whereupon it displayed the status page (without my logging in or requesting it), but was unresponsive to GUI selections.  Shut down the PSU for sixty seconds, fired it up again, and back to normal.  It now once again appears fine.

That was fixed in the first firmware revision and was a known bug. You can download the latest S5 firmware here.

I'm selling my GPUs already, some have been even sold. But somehow I'm a little bit afraid to switch all into Antminers. I somehow got used to my GPUs but seems that era ended for me . As I stated there is no electricity costs for me. And right now I do own 2 EVGA 1300 SuperNOVA and also the Corsair AX1200i. I don't have to buy them anymore. Did you have room to overclock your S5s with the EVGA? For the Corsair I guess this is what will be the problem. Guess I will have to underclock. But first I will run about 4 S5s. All powered by the EVGAs. Eventually I'll get a 5th, which will be hooked onto the Corsair and maybe a 6th one will follow. But that depends. Maybe next month or later, and if it will be still worthy then is the other question. My main concern is just about the noise. Did anybody measure decibels on the s5s? Right now even my 290s go up to 70 db. Guess sooner or later I will have to swap the fans on the S5s.

What fan has the lowest dBA fan with acceptable CFM?
