It has several improvements, some of which are no longer relevant
At the risk of stating the obvious, if a given feature is no longer relevant,
then it is not an improvement.
but some advantages such as shorter block times are not negligeable.
Most who trot out this canard have not yet learned that the block time is a tradeoff. Please convince me you are not among these uninformed.
So LTC IS better than BTC;
So no. Maybe for some niche applications. Certainly not universally.
its just not as recognised.
First unambiguously true thing you've said.
That being said, I am discovering other coins with many more innovations over both BTC and LTC...
'Innovation' does not denote superiority. Indeed, in the vast majority of cases, the tried and true is superior to the innovative. Probably by the same principle that 95% of everything is shit. 'Innovative' might make you feel proud. In and of itself, 'innovative' does not win you markets.
That said, upon occasion, innovation leads to greater utility. Show me a bigger innovation than Bitcoin. Please. Bitcoin introduced the central innovation of the blockchain - the grand innovation upon which almost all follow-on shitcoins depend.
so in terms of functionality these coins deserve an even better spot than the BTC.
Deserve?
Deserve!? Deseeeeerve!? We're talking about monetary systems here - not a feelgood Special Olympics Participation Medal.
