Then how come virtually every religious person discarded the flat earth and accepted that the earth was a globe? Before that 1k years ago, pretty much everyone believed the earth was flat except a few, 500 years ago a lot more people accepted the globe as real, 100 years ago virtually everyone accepted the globe as real, keeping in mind that most people were also religious. How did this happen then? How did all these deeply religious people accept this? Perhaps because they know it's right?
Average people don't have time to do investigations into everything. They are too busy supporting family, and trying to get a little enjoyment out of it.
Prior to 500 years ago, people thought the earth was flat because they were told by the Church. Why were they told this by the Church? It was part of the ploy of some shrewd criminals who manipulated themselves into the Church to deceive the people into handing over their wealth to the Church.
Why did the people fall into the hoax? Because they recognized that God exists (because you can see God all over nature), but didn't see that the Church is full of crooked leaders.
Then science came along and took some of the strength away from the Church. So, now we have two churches - the Church and Science. Both of them contain things that are right and things that are wrong. And both of them are out to make money for their leaders.
FE people want to form a third church... one that is based on both, the Church and science... retaining a few pieces of truth, but messing it all up worse than either the Church or science. There is money to be made in churchianity and religiosity. Why leave it all for the Church and science?

People always knew the earth was exactly as The Bible describe it -flat and stationary covered by a firmament-dome, until the devil's roman catholic church launched the globe deception roughly 500 years ago.
