No matter how long it takes to stake, you get your 2% per day starting with the moment the coins are added to your wallet. With that said, it's always best to have your coins in one big block, rather than multiple smaller blocks. If everyone would combine their blocks, we'd all get faster stakes. Just keep your wallet open, or you could wait until min. Coinage (before the coin matures and building up wheight for staking) and then start the wallet.

But i guess the electric is so low for let the wallet open and taking low ressources from you PC - so let it keep running.

And unlock it for staking , of course.

Regardless of the coin, I always buy in and/or sell out in small amounts when the volume isn't very high for a given coin. It helps keep the market stable, and stability is good for everyone. If you want to buy a lot or sell a lot at once, you can also try and make a deal with someone off market. I've done that a few times and it worked out well each time.
