Yeah, most likely it he will be some insurance for Davis, if ever AD got injured or something, at least there will be someone to cover the Center/PF department for the Lakers unlike last year.

Decent stat but he was not a impact to the Mavericks last year and I think he struggled with the rotation and chemistry with the players and it's good though that he has been released and then pick up by Lakers for a 2 year deal.

Maybe he is a slight downgrade from Davis (just a bit though). I mean, both can dominate the paint and can shoot from outside, so it looks like he can fit into the chemistry needed for the Lakers team to work smoothly. Davis' minutes need to be managed, as they cannot afford to miss him in the playoffs. So, having Christian Wood, who is known for his offensive skills, I think he'll shine with the Lakers. The advantage the Lakers have is their big lineup, so the defensive and rebounding liabilities for Wood may not be as challenging.

This is indeed a steal for the Lakers here, but I just hope that they should've offered him a bigger amount even if it is just a 2-year deal as they sure already do know his worth and he's not the kind of player who should they doubt first if he can be useful or not because Wood already showed his capabilities during his run with the Mavericks and Rockets where he was averaging very decently whether from the paint or beyond the arc.

With the Harden drama hanging over the Sixers, Embiid has come forward to say that he plans to stay in Philly no matter what happens with Harden. That seems like a positive development for them. They also signed Danny Green to bring him back to Philly, where I assume he will retire as he spent plenty of years there.

Now this is a good signing! Wood was amazing at Rockets, and he definitely is the type of guy that can help AD down low as well. He has a smooth shot, maybe not shooting that much but he can make some, and he is very athletic down under as well which means that he could be inside when AD is outside and be outside when AD is inside which would help the team.

I still think that they are lacking a great shooter, I do not mean like someone such as Curry, I mean like some Kyle Korver/JJ Reddick type of guy that would play either PG or SG, that would be great. With a team of basically Reaves, Lebron, AD and Wood, they would definitely have a great four, and with a good shooter that would be amazing for them for sure.

I think the Lakers have history of great shooters since they won their championship. Players like Danny Green, KCP, Monk and others that I can't remember. But it seems that they have abandoned this strategy when they have Ham as coach.

As for Wood, yeah could be a great addition, at least a good men to help AD. We all know that or at least the media says that they are looking for a big men and I thought that they might get Dwight Howard again. But at least they fall on a young player, who still has a lot of good basketball years ahead of him and we saw what he can do when he was with the Rockets years ago.

I wonder how will this drama with Harden affect the whole team. We know Embiid's capabilities already in the court, but who will be his second, and third scorer if Harden will really not play for the team? Maybe Maxey, and Harris as they are the 2nd, and 3rd scorer excluding Harden. I'm more curious on how will Harden be in the training camp. Will he go out there with a fat body again like when he's in the Rockets? Will he be the same as Simmons where he's training, but has a phone in his right hand? Will he not speak to his teammates? I mean I'm curious on how the Harden drama will turn out.

Without a doubt, definitely a big steal for a big man who can shoot. What I am curious about is the agent of Christian Wood. Why did they let him sign such a small contract, there will be more teams that will surely offer him something. I am sure they are also not in a rush. Perhaps, it is Wood who wants to play with Lebron James even if he sacrifices his own 2 year salary.

Probably. There is a lot of gossip coming out that James Harden is pulling out Joel Embiid as well so this will put a stop to all that gossip after he made that statement. But, this must be a sad day for him. Now, they don't know who is going to play point for them but I do believe Tyrese Maxey is getting better although not in the passing area. The 76ers should try focusing on improving him in that area because his speed is definitely amazing and that will help them achieve successful transition plays, he won't just lay it up by himself as he always does, there will be options once he knows how to look at his surroundings.

Yes, they are not in the same pay grade, and obviously he will be used as a back up for AD in case something happen to him. And so it was interesting to see him with the Lakers though, he didn't have a good playing time with the Dallas and really might not be a good fit for them.

But I do agree, they retain some of their core, and then trade or shift others and then give way to Wood to fill the gap for them. So it will be a different Lakers and hopefully Lebron can still perform at high level at his age.
