Decred's specific hybrid PoW/PoS system is such because it offers more robust consensus. I've never heard of any plan to replace it with pure PoS.

So then it will use the PoW/PoS system forever.

So in this case I was wondering wether decred uses the same kind of block reward halving as bitcoin or others to avoid inflation but it seems that I found the answer here. Btw thanks for the answers.

hey any one know here if the wallet will work on linux ubuntu? i try to get it to work but end up getting errors . Also it seem that linux version of the wallet run on testnet only is that true?

The v0.8.0 wallet release has been delayed until 2/9/2017. The Decred team is using this additional time to prepare demonstrations of hard fork voting.
