And now for a thought to give nightmares to the larger Burst miners.
What would happen if Backblaze dedicated just *ONE* of their "vaults" to mining Burst.
Even an old vault (of the type they're retiring/upgrading) would be 45 drives x 2TB per drive = one pod times 85% for the RAID-type overhead x 10 pods x 10 racks per vault.
7.6 PB would be a little over half of the 11-12 PB the network is currently averaging. Figure 40% after it's added in as a ballpark figure.
Then think about them dedicating one of their NEW vaults to it - 60 drives x 8 TB per drive = one pod x 85% for the RAID-type overhead x 10 pods per rack x 10 racks per vault....
Over 40 PB. 40800 TB.
Is Burst capable of being 51% attacked?
Happy Holidays!
All coins are at risk of a 51% attack, BURST is no exception.
The answer here is purely game theoretic. If they decided to dedicate such resources to mine BURST, it would be illogical for them to destroy it utilizing a 51% attack.
Of course, they could do it out of pure spite/malice in which case they wouldn't care about expending resources.
Additionally, who says BURST didn't face such issues in the past

We are still around
