For me, it's more that the immediacy of the platform and the terseness of the messaging combined with the relative anonymity and safety that it provides is just going to bring out the worse in everyone that touches it (I've felt it in myself on the few occasions I've interacted). It's basically the same mechanism as behind road rage. We've all (I'm sure) sent regrettable emails in the past. Twitter is that on steroids.

That's only the start of it though. There's a whole Skinner box/dopamine aspect to it that goes on. It's poison to the soul.

but twitter and facebook are worse by far.

Someone doesn't want a recovery getting established.

I can remember a time on the internet before shill/agenda bots and sock puppet accounts were even a thing.

At that time, discussion forums and boards were fairly civil and tame. Discourse was lively, informative, even fun. And it was much easier to get at the truth and facts about any subject matter.

It's the shill accounts and bots that have absolutely ruined everything.

And the kicker? TPTB have set up both a political and financial incentive-based system that encourages their creation and use.

I hope netflix is watching whats happening to these cocksuckers throwing woke agendas into everything and it will be a decent unaltered watch.
