lovin me some starlink also....about the only complaint i would voice is that it is a little power hungry...being totally off grid atm i am finding my battery bank is getting strained trying to run it 24/7
turning off the auto snow melt feature helped some but running it and a mesh cuts into my energy budget pretty heavily
setup was indeed painless and the wifi is good...android app is somewhat kludgy but has useful info
all in all quite pleased so far
What are you running it off? Solar power going into a battery bank and then running it directly off the battery pack into the satellite? Does it move or is it stationary? I cannot think why it would use as much energy as you say because if it does not have a motor it should just be pointing at the satellite and if that does not move it just sends the connection back. If it has a motor and follows the satellite I can see why it would use a lot of energy.

it does have motors...and it moves around on its own when it needs too...once its locked in it should not moved around much tho
i think its because it receives and transmits is why the power draw is higher than i would like...up to 140w...thats around 3.4k watt/hours per day
it does not draw that all the time but it can

solar is getting easier and cheaper and i think having the ability to support your own energy needs in this day in age is a must have
you need 4 basic things and then all the bits and bobs to hook it together
you need to generate electricity....maintain and convert the electricity your going to store..store that electricity and then use it...so that usually involves solar panels to generate...a charge controller to maintain and convert...batteries to store and a inverter to use said electricity

there is tons of videos and self help sites out there for getting started
