Used it for around 20min with external temp at 15deg but it was risky, chip temp climbed immediately to 90 and kept on increasing very slowly

I'm on 110/120 volt (in usa)

So what should I put the voltage up to (don't want to pop circuit or burn the boards) I've never done more than 15 voltage on any single board from being scared.

I would flash factory image and try. it is recommended to set the frequency and voltage to default before flashing.

Reboot and check.

If you still have the problem:

verify PSU is working, swap the cables
Swap the controller cables and see if the problem will shift

I am running on coinmine with SEVEN D3 miners for 2 monthes already, and I earn approx. 0.05 Dash per day.

On another pool I earn 2 times(!) more with SIX D3s - approx. 0.1 Dash/day.

Why is it so?

Did the (worse) pool required you to setup specific worker? Maybe you you can try to change the worker name or pass so it will be invalid and miner will switch to backup pool (if you set it as well).

I connected my D3 to miningrentals .. great feature is I can add new pools and switch to them without need to contact hosting provider.
