Its more true to the original Bitcoin vision then BTC with planned upgrades
Simple solution to BTC scaling problems is to increase block size. If your PC needs more RAM simple solution is buy more RAM, instead of trying to run less programs, which is similar to what segwit essentially does and Lighting plans to do even more.
Not sure lighting is even needed for btc. BTC is like a store of value, savings account, digital gold, not sure its purpose is small vis mastercard level transactions.. if you use lighting essentially you are not even transfering bitcoins, but only data thats supposed to be backed by real bitcoins in blockchain. but what do you know the next step might be system similar to banks where you transfer essentially unbacked currency and only like 10 percent is backed by real btc..
its not so simple guys..

Is it not so that a big percentage of BCH is "locked in" and unusable because the owner don't know they have it and don't know how to access it?

You have any graph of that statics how many are still unusable till now I don't think these too much. Majority of the people were aware of this event because it was very panic situation in July.

I generally don't like forks splitting the community like that but IMO bitcoin cash is the right way to improve bitcoin and segwit is a dirty hack.

Absolutely. The diff will jump for sure in the next few days, probably 3-400% or more. My hope is that BCC can close the gap and pass BTC in terms of blocks by that time.

Currently 760 blocks behind the main chain, and 24hrs ago we were almost double that gap.

BTC block times are slowing down as well. That will help.

As far as BCC price goes, I do think it will drift lower to around $500 for the next few days because of all the new hash rate coming online and miners will be selling coins. After the difficulty readjusts upwards the price will level off and trading volume come down a bit. Then we will start to climb the next rung of the ladder. This oscillation will continue for a month or two and then things will stabilize in an upward trajectory. HODL!

Bitcoin cash set a bad precedent for future bitcoin hard forks. If this altcoin survives and thrives, then many versions of bitcoin with bigger block sizes will be created. All else being equal, imagine how superior a 16mb bitcoin is compared to bitcoin cash.
