Keep in mind that block reward has not halved yet.
A rise to 100 wasn't predicted until then.

Q: with the increase in activity, will block reward halve sooner, and when?

I'm not even sure price will drop when block halving appears... Price now is just passing the difficulty and keeps on rising.
If this trend keeps going until block halving, mining will still be profitable, less but still great
