Unfortunately MrTiggr has taken ill and his role will be severly reduced in the the short term.
I have offered to step up and check out available venues and costings in Melbourne.

We need to cost it all out so we can talk to our sponsors, and anyone offering help or support, financial or otherwise.

I also feel we need to formalise a BitcoinAU 2011 organising comittee and find someone good at PR with some time to help get the word out to the press.

Ideas for publicity stunts prior and during, activities and talks that would attract Mr and Mrs general public are welcome, and what would you the Bitcoiner like to see at your Bitcoin AU 2011

One thing I will be strongly pushing for is our venue to accept bitcoins for the weekend and hopefully one of the exchanges can step up and convert to cash for them  - this is an idea I have not put to any exchange yet.

'other' can only mean south australia since technically you've listed all the other 'states'

An exposition definitely should have merchant booths.

hence me using the word 'technically' since neither of those two are states

I'm in the 'other' state but I'd even consider going over to Perth just to be at the start of the convoy. I love the idea of a convoy too. How 'bout if we get on the CB radio and get the truckies involved? Bitcoin4backhaul. Break out the C.W. M^cCall.
