Then like I said before what about players in other positions? Maldini is the pinnacle for a defender etc. What about midfielders, Zidane, Robaldinho? The Brazilian Ronaldo?
The argument for the GOAT could go on forever.
I thought I knew a lot about football but then you surprised me and pulled Robaldinho out of the sleeve

Just messing with you a little.
On a more serious note I would argue that Ronaldinho was maybe the best one to watch while he was in form. He just enjoyed playing football and some of his moves were absolutely brilliant. I was always most impressed with the way he would take a defender out of a game while receiving a ball. Unfortunately he can never be considered with the others IMHO because his flare, while very bright, lasted shorter time. Messi & Ronaldo are on top of their game every season and almost every game. Same could be said for Zidane and Maldini while Ronaldinho was on his best for much shorter time period.
Neymar is still a boy on a playground and if he doesen't grow up he will never be remembered as one of the greatest.
And to put my two cents about Messi and Ronaldo. Messi was always more talented and had those magic touches but Ronaldo is absolute beast. The way he managed to train his body is unbelievable. I feel that he invested much more into his career then Messi. It doesen't make sense to argue who is better, both are great players and we are fortunate to live in a time when we can watch them impress us every single week.
I didn't watch Pele & Maradona play live a lot and never on stadium. So I will refrain from commenting on them. You can't judge the player properly based on compilations of his best moves.
