PCB has announced its T20I squad for coming worldcup and surprisingly there is no change in the squad. Team is almost same which participated in Asia cup. Khushdil and iftikhar are again in squad. The only new entry is Shan Masood. I am not very hopeful from this squad.
After seeing this bad performance in Asia cup, BCCI, and BCB did not make any major changes in team selection. After seeing their selection, there was a mixed reaction among the cricket fans. Pakistan's impressive early performance in the Asia Cup didn't explain their weakness, but the last three matches have shown how far behind they are. But they haven't brought much change in this team, which is really disappointing and questionable. I am not happy with the selection of BCCI, PCB, BCB, when they play the World Cup, you will understand how effective these teams are.
There is no doubt that one of the major reasons why Pakistan did not perform well at the Asia Cup was that their star player Babar Azam was not able to perform well in this particular tournament.
Despite this, I am quite amazed that they have not changed their squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup after such a lackluster performance. Evan BCB left out their experienced player Mahmud Ullah Riyad from the squad as he did not perform in recent times. In my opinion, it would have been better if Pakistan had made some small changes to their squad and given some more chances to some of the younger players.
