India announced the Squad for upcoming T-20/ ODI series against the West Indies. Kohli, Kuldeep, Bhuvneshwar, Shami, Jadeja are back and Krunal, Khaleel, Shardul Thakur, Samson out.

Samson exclusion looks odd to me, he didn't even got a chance to play a single game and considering Rishabh Pant's recent form, he surely deserved a few chances and not sure what Kedar Jadhav is doing in the ODI squad, he's 34 yo. IMO management should look out for new blood (Shubham Gill).

No mention of Dhoni, guess more speculation on his retirement.

^^^ Surprised with the omission of Samson. He didn't got a chance last time and it may be unfair on him to kick him out of the squad without giving an opportunity to perform. On the other hand, they made the right decision by replacing Khaleel Ahmed with Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Bhuvi is one of the best pace bowlers available right now, and he deserves a slot.

West Indies squad for the T20 series is not yet announced. I am really disappointing with the selectors for not giving a chance to players and then excluding which will demotivate any player, he should have given a chance and see how he performs in the international stage and rather than giving him a chance he is excluded in the test series, i used to see these kind of procedures in the past where players will be selected for tours and not play a game and then gets excluded.

Indian team selection always have been controversial. The selectors tend to give more chances to players from their own state boards. Examples are the numerous chances given to average players such as Khaleel Ahmed, Dinesh Karthik and Hanuma Vihari. There is no doubt that India will win the series against West Indies with the bowling and the batting power India has but in the series the West Indies is bringing back their specialist players and hence it will be a really good contest. When you are selecting a players and not giving a chance to play he is not gaining any experience, they should allow the player to play a couple of matches if they are selected rather than warming the bench.

There was a huge outcry about the omission of Sanju Samson from the team even without giving a chance to play a single game and there were some political support too from Shashi Tharoor and yesterday night there were hints that the BCCI is planning to select him and now we have a replacement for Sikhar Dhawan. I personally would like to see him play for the team and see how he performs.

It is good to see Samson being included in the squad. But it will create a negative atmosphere if people like Shashi Tharoor and Sreesanth comes out in support for him. There is a huge pool of talents in India right now and it is a big competition to get in the team and have a permanent position as the bench strength is really huge and if you are not performing or failing for a few matches then there are people waiting to take your position, the only vacant position in the team right now is to find a suitable replacement for Dhoni and it is hard to replace a talent like that i doubt we will see another wicket keeper like him ever again.

The problem with Pant is that hes trying very hard to replace Dhoni, and hes putting lots of pressure on himself to perform and its starting to effect his natural game. In my opinion Pant can become one of the best wicket keeper in the world, but the media and the fans need to stop comparing him with Dhoni for that to happen. @SaShiRaJaVu thats precisely the problem everyone is focused on thinking the former Indian captain cannot be replaced, but no one is focusing on allowing Pant to be himself they all want him to replicate Dhoni and this decision is backfiring on him.

Do you think having a lot of talent sometimes is not good for a team in the long run ? If the good players are not able to make the position in the team because of even more good players, then this will ruin the career of those players who are not able to make place in the team despite being well talented.
Also it will put extra pressure on the players because if they fail to perform, they will be immediately replaced.

Dhoni is replacable as we have many players those was on peak and they have to retire as time never stops same happen with Dhoni in near future we could watch some more better player for India in place of him as now they have some very good and stronge domestic system which is helping youngsters to grow and appear in world with best of game.
