TBH now the situation is much better compared to a couple of decades back. We hardly get to hear the big scale of the spot-fixing drama.

ICC anti corruption unit doing an alright job in this regard. Players are briefed regularly and from time to time they come forward if someone contacts them, sure this problem can't be cured completely but it's manageable atm or maybe Fixing-system became too sophisticated.
 

Even Kenya is again doing good in cricket, but sadly it's all not enough for them to have better results in near future days because they need good funds which are not coming from ICC and domestic system is also not providing any support they need to work on organization like Asian Cricket council which surely can increase their speed of improvement because now we have the good number of countries from African region those are doing good in cricket but right now African region is having their main focus on soccer which is surely giving them good funds and world-class soccer players but if they start this also on grass root then surely we can bring good changes in this game from this region which could be good for the game and these countries as well even they work on just T20i because right now this is surely entertaining format.

ICC must give preference to teams that have 100% native players and that's not the case with UAE and other gulf countries. Kenya was in 2003 world cup semis and today they are not even seen in any icc tournament. They have gone down to level that they are playing in a 4 team African cup with team like Uganda. The point is such team should have gone up in performance with time rather then lost in the darkness.

Kenya was in good position earlier, and the performance have went downwards. The team have played 5 World Cups, and later it had big break. The new team and the new players are once again forming the team better. However the team losing its one off tournaments against Botswana and Uganda is really unexpected. Once again Kenya to play against Botswana tomorrow, and this time Kenya needs to win the match. Cricket is much on Asia and now getting widespread around Africa and other parts of the world is a needed one for now.

Everything is going to depend on how England is going to recover from this situation. England should be able to recover. The Lord is also going to depend on how the track is going to behave the next day. If England be unable to play properly and bat properly on this track, I don’t think it is going to be easy for the Australian batters either. England did well to not let Australia take the lead in this match so far.

But even though Australia is not leading on the scoreboard, they are certainly leading in terms of mentality right now. But England still got eight wickets in hand. So they are not going to give up easily and will try to roast a good total for Australia to chase. Right now it looks like Australia has the upper hand but the situation will change quickly in my opinion. England will have to keep wickets in hand. The main priority in the next day for England should be not to lose early wickets.

England is currently leading by 235 runs. They have three wickets in hand. Right now, the second session of day-4 is going on. If England does not give Australia at least a target of 300. I believe Australia is going to get to the target easily since they will have a whole day and one session to reach the target. But it looks like England will probably not be able to give a target of 300 or more.

As I am writing this, England has lost one more wicket. The lead is now 240. I think the target is going to be somewhere near 250/260 in the end.

I don’t think Kenya is going to reach the same level that they did back in 2003. At least they are not going to reach that level any time soon for sure. The ICC is the only reason why a lot of teams like Kenya have not been able to improve at all.

Basically, in 2003, I believe it was the Srinivasan Pawar mafia in the power of the ICC. Maybe they thought that giving the test status to a country right beside India was going to give them a better market for cricket.

Remember at that time Bangladesh was not a good team. So probably the thought that Bangladesh cannot play well themselves so they are going to watch cricket matches of India. That is going to generate more revenue.

Kenya of 2003 was a very strong team. Some of their players, like Steve Tikolo and Maurice Odumbe were as good as any of the full member players. They defeated full members like India and West Indies multiple times. During the 2003 World Cup, they defeated Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in the same tournament. At this point, the ICC could have increased fund allocation for them and provided more chances against full members. But after the 2003 World Cup, they never played against a full member nation until the 2007 ODI World Cup. On the other hand, Bangladesh was provided with a lot of support both by the ICC and by the BCCI.

Everything is possible to achieve in this current world with Kenya can achieve their best again but now here they need to work on few things with domestic setup and development of their players is very important, and they never need to rely on ICC because they also need to work on this by themselves as well because now recently we have good changes in this and investment is also coming which is important for the game and countries as well.

If ICC is not going to help them, African countries need to work on few things which surely can bring good development and changes for many countries which are involved in this game, franchise league is surely good way of having good funds and any African league which have a good number of teams can bring good intention and money as well.
