The emphasis is not on profitability for now, we are talking about a high value asset that can easily be verified. I don't think that any other asset comes close to Bitcoin. You do not need help from anyone to verify transactions and the details you need to know, the blockchain can be accessed by everyone anytime or day and with ease.

But when you need to verify some information about the real estate investment, you may have to go through agents, to scanning through documents, asking questions, getting approvals if there is need for it. No other asset comes close to Bitcoin.

I honestly just feel like Bitcoin is hard to beat especially in the aspect of technical verifiability.

And of course there might still be some other public and permissionless blockchains that claim to offer the same type of transparency that bitcoin does , but the truth is that most of them are still not on Bitcoin’s level yet especially when you consider its combination of simplicity, maturity, decentralization, and also how easy it is to independently confirm things for yourself.

But the moment we start bringing bring legal ownership/verification into the picture, that’s when things may start to get more interesting.

Assets like dematerialized securities and land registries can actually be just as strong or even stronger in the aspect of legal verification because you’re not gonna be relying on the blockchain alone plus there’s already an established legal system behind the record that determines who actually owns the said asset.

So when it comes to technical and permissionless verification, bitcoin has the upper hand while things like land and securities have the advantage in the aspect of legal recognition and enforceability.
