If institutions hold billions in bitcoin waiting for the right time to sell, is it a better adoption than widespread every day usage?
One thing you should know about institutional investors is that they are diehard sellers. They hold the key to the success of many global assets in the financial world, and we can rightly call them the pillars of most of them. Bitcoin's own can't be an issue, as they are dependable holders who don't sell anyhow.
By institutional Involvement I meant; Institutional investors, ETFs, companies holding bitcoin, banks in bitcoin;
While,
By everyday utility I meant; people using bitcoin for payments, casinos accepting bitcoin, remittances, cross-border payments etc.
Is this even a thing of debate? Long-term holders/investors hold roughly 7075% of Bitcoins circulating supply, while roughly 2530% is held by short-term holders and other actively moving coins. The equation has been for long and has not changed anything southwards.
