Will you still be holding BTC if the price is fixed like a Stablecoin? Will you buy more to keep for the next generation if price neither increases or decrease, be honest, let me hear your thoughts.
It's called Bitcoin for a reason, not USDT. Bitcoin's value is not pegged to any fiat currency, so I don't see why we should expect it to become stable in that sense. Its price is determined by market demand and supply, and volatility is part of being a market driven asset. The real question people should be asking is why do we want to hold Bitcoin in the first place? Is it because we want to escape the traditional financial system and have greater control over our money, or are we only interested in making profits from the market? And I'm very sure a large population of investors are only focused on the profit making part, which is nothing but the benefits of holding BTC..
When we bring this back to your question, we also need to consider the difference between Bitcoin and centralized stablecoins like USDT. USDT may be useful for maintaining a stable dollar value, but it comes with a different set of risks. Tether can freeze or blacklist addresses holding its tokens, and users depend on the company to issue and redeem them. Even if USDT operates on a decentralized blockchain, the token itself is still controlled by a centralized issuer.
Bitcoin is different. No central company can simply freeze your BTC at a particular address. As long as you control your private keys and secure them properly, you can hold your Bitcoin without depending on a company to maintain access to it. Of course, this does not make you immune to theft or losing your keys, but it gives you a level of financial independence that centralized stablecoins cannot offer in the same way.
This is why I believe we need to understand what we are buying Bitcoin for. If your only goal is to hold a stable dollar value, then USDT serves that purpose better. But if your goal is to have greater control over your money, avoid depending on a central issuer, and hold an asset with a fixed maximum supply, then Bitcoin offers something fundamentally different...
