I had the same problem before I completely uninstalled the wallet and installed a newer version

If I remember correctly there was a problem a few versions back because bitbucket changed url format, so client update didn't work. Just download the new client manually, and overwrite the current one. https://nxtforum.org/nrs-releases/

This guy is registering hordes of new accounts for the purpose of phishing peoples accounts. Look at the new members list and you'll find a bunch. I just went through the first few pages of the bitcointalk member list, these are only a few hours old.
