i got a question about the zero knowledge tech. first, when will it be implemented?
is it the same as zerocoin/zerocash? is it similar to what anoncoin was doing with the rsa_ufo tech? what makes it better than those? thanks
The crypgraphy devs are extremely busy right now as you can imagine. They are finishing up the last touches to the testnet for zero knowledge and a ton of cleanups for a heap of buggy things we have all encountered that have been inherited from other code within the project.
For those wondering about the new tech, its nothing like what anoncoin or zerovert was attempting. It is not an zerocoin implementation and does not come with the truckload of issues and risks that zerocoin harbors and is yet to overcome. It does not require a trusted setup with a key to "print all you want". Some people seem to be heavily confusing it with a zerocoin implementation without rsa modules, i can assure you it is not.
Thats not to say it isn't extremely difficult to implement. Because, apparently it has been far more difficult then first anticipated but its basically done now. I encourage everyone to be extremely patient with this release as it is a ground breaking implementation and stands to put an end to every other attempt, so far, to remove knowledge. The goal was/is to implement a solution that in a streamline way, ANYBODY can use it and not wait hours for a transaction or pay for it heavily.
The cryptography devs are finishing it off now and are trying to get all of the documentation together for it. They find it hard to finalise these papers when they have changed a few things regarding the tech. So again, please be really patient because once the public testnet is released the documentation will follow and SDCDev aka sdcoin aka rynomster will be here to answer all of your technical questions regarding it.
