I don't think so. Bitcoin is good but its not economically good. Yes, bitcoin transactions are better because you are not tractable but its transaction fees is really a pain in the ass. It is too high. It is too high that even Steam stopped supporting bitcoin as a payment because from .02 usd transaction fee went up to 20 usd.

I think its possible that bitcoin can be the new era of currency. We all know that bitcoin is a digital cryptocurrency that is used online for fast and easy payment. We will never know if its a new era until we try to use it. So until now we just have to wait and see if it will become a new era of currency or not.

For me yes bitcoin is the new era of currency, but need a more evolution. Bitcoin are rising and growing fast.
