That is because it downloaded it over a satlink which is very costly with very limited bandwidth windows 10 did automatically download but it didn't automatically install the end user had to tell it to install with many choosing not to which is what I said
Windows update by default is set to auto download updates
Your trying to get off point now the whole thing was that keeping backwards compatibility is a good thing because not everyone wants to upgrade and shouldn't be penalized for doing so
pretty sure you are the one who is trying to get off point. The original point is how soft forks force/ coerce upgrades on those who did not sign up for them.
So far the advancements to the argument show concerns over SF's forcing users to choose between an ever shrinking & aging version with the hope (trust) of backwards compatibility. So in other words ~depending on the level of trust (trust) the users have in the makers of the new soft fork to actually keep their word when their is no incentive to so do.
What a travesty that someone able to think that backwards regarding proper economic incentive was working on bitcoin at one time and either unable to see the stupidity or actively planting this backwards thinking on purpose to destroy it. So glad to see some break away today.
So under tek model of sf we should trust the people doing what we do not want them to do to have our best interests before their own? And hope that they will support the thing they did not make for ever even though they make no money off it all while they make their own project/ product that directly competes???
