There must be a reason why they ask you to do the KYC level 1 and I think it is not a big deal for you if you want to stay playing in Stake. To be sure, you can ask the live support why they ask you to pass the KYC level 1. My account is still not verified at all and they have not asked me the same as your account so far but I will not worry if they will ask me the same thing in the future.

It's always better to work, but I wouldn't call those people dumb. In a casino there's always a chance of turning your $0.1 into $10, and $10 into $50 and so on. Trying to do that with your own money is not advisable, unless you are having fun along the way and you are not risking large amounts for you. But if it's totally free, why not? I'm not doing it myself these days bc I'm kinda busy most of the time, but several years ago I used to do something like this, so I can understand those guys. Most of them will make a bait bet first then will raise the bet after reaching some specific amount spin already they have been made. If it was fiat world then I would sort of understand being normal and calm. However we are talking about crypto world and even when it is stake we are talking about many people have some worries. I get that it is not really that common for many people to get worried just because of something simple like this, but the reality is that in crypto world we have faced with a lot of unknown situations that made us worried.
