Can a user watch a video for free and then later get incentivised for sharing or whatever? If not, many will not bother. Psychologically, the first step is very important. Let them watch a few videos for free to break their resistance. Then if they want to view more videos, they have to earn flixx by sharing or whatever. Makes sense?

Yeah thats the reason behind the incentive program and getting content creators on board. and the partnership with adex.  They will all watch for free, earn tokens through social goals and get more users on board, which is more attractive for advertisers. That kickstarts the whole economy.

My understanding is that it will be possible to receive Flixx by means other than advertising, but if the video is simply released for free then it's the creators who end up short-changed - anyone who buys and seeds the video will be compensated for every download, however.

It will be a fact that flixxo will have a functioning product earlier then most of its competitors. You are right, there needs to be more awareness, but it also needs to be planned carefully. Tweeting nonsense draws the wrong people to Flixxo. We need real users.
