Probably yes because bitcoin is already the mainstream of cryptos. Even if bitcoin will not die, people might even lose interest on it when its market price soar so high since it will be very expensive for new comers and newbies. And if that ever happened, i would love ETH to be on top and continue BTC's legacy.

The answer for that is no because as long as there are people who are in capable in using Bitcoin the next generation will continue in using Bitcoins.

I think if bitcoin dies some other altcoin like etherum, ripple, litecoin, dashcoin may not be affected  because it's can be traded with other currencies like euro, usd. Altcoin has own market not dependent bitcoin market so the effect of bitcoin dies will be very small.
