If both waves and wct can receive the same amount of vostok, i would rather you buy waves, by holding waves you have the opportunity to receive vostok, wct (if still airdrop) and other waves base tokens as well,
I don't know if hodling wct will make you eligible to receive waves base tokens, so i would rather hodl waves, more expensive but better advantage imo.

Just saw my waves client and came across some received transactions that are marked as suspicious. What are these suspicious token? How do they filter them?

Always stay attentive with assets within your wallet and don't get captured by scammers' tricks. Btw, take into account that assets with fraud attempts will fall into a spam folder and are all marked as "Suspicious". So you don't need to filter them.
