I think there is a misunderstanding of the term pledge. Though everyone is encouraged to put their money in the address now, I am personally waiting for the first charity to be chosen, and that is okay for everyone to do that. I wish I put a "adjustable to current market rates" cap on my pledge donations, but it's okay, good causes, karma and all that.

I admit that some misunderstanding is warranted due to the cart being placed in front of the horse. I saw no harm in this provided I fully disclose what's transpiring, of which I have stated on more than one occasion in this thread--and will continue to do so. I feel it's a minor issue, one we can easily circumnavigate around.

That is quite all right with you doing such. You could easily exercise your prerogative any time, even when an allocated pool is directed towards a named charitable organization. But be forewarned: The next time you turn up missing I, for one, won't be so concerned.

Although I would want the chance to veto the donation to a charity I had a problem with I would happily accept a 3-day timeout with a default action of donating. I've just sent 1 BTC to the Bitcoin100 address (waiting on the blockchain to update before it goes through) and I assume this is to prepare for the first charity.
Could I send funds sufficient for a small number of charities at a time? I like the idea of the Bitcoin100 but can't afford to be very hands on and would be happier helping by just supplying some funds. How will you keep track of who has pledged what?

Born This Way. Keeping track of the pledges is simple. A member here simply states their pledging intentions. Perhaps, you're wondering how I'll keep track of the honoring of those pledges. Again, a pledger will mention it here on this board or via a PM to me. But the honoring of the pledges is not as imperative as the pledging process itself, I believe. Sure, it's important, but as I've previously stated, the growth of the pools will take care of themselves, for it's a numbers game--the more pledgers, inveterately the more honoring of their stated pledges. I hope that makes sense.

At the moment, we don't have a system in place to storehouse honored pledges. Although one could easily be created, I feel it may cause unwanted confusion at this point coupled with the having of sorting out what is what should something go awry. BTW, how much were you considering, for I... Never mind!

I believe I know what you're asking for, here, and, someway, somehow, a defense mechanism will be set in place, resulting in the harmonious appeasement of most who are also concerned with this issue.
