It could be a time related issue. Human agents are available only at certain timings throughout the day due to which the bot will connect you to them only when they are available and suggest some other options when they aren't.

Try at a different time again and you might be able to get in touch with a proper agent and solve your issue immediately without any more delay.

This is a bit off-topic, but it still made me smile. 

We are currently evaluating AI-controlled first-level support bots at work. The quality of some bots is now so good that people in a field test could no longer tell whether they were talking to a real person or AI. Only when very detailed questions about the product were asked did it become relatively clear that a bot was responding. But for standard inquiries about emails, problems, and the like, the AI bots work really well!

For easy things like asking for a cancelation or the status of a order it's easy to pass by as human because they can understand and provide the information easily. But when the support needs to do a lot of verification on the background and contact other lines or do decisions that vary depending on many factors then we still need humans.

As time passes it will look more like humans but I think it's never going to be 100% bots because even in 10% of the cases we need a real human to take decisions.

1-If you're not using a provider like Gmail, as you mentioned, you'll have the same experience as me. I don't use Gmail, and after looking into your issue, I noticed that, in my case, it takes almost a minute for the infamous unsubscribe link to appear.

2-This is a very basic point, but the unsubscribe link only appears in emails from blowhole@whale.io. It's worth mentioning because it doesn't appear in emails from whale@whale.io, which is how you log in, so otherwise.

3-If none of the above works, just send them to the spam folder. It's that simple.

(4)There are other steps to follow, but those are just general settings, and I assume you've already tried them.
