Traders and investors are not the same, those Who buy and hold are not Traders they are investors, the Traders used to move their money and follow the markets, if the price is up they sell and wait the price goes down to buy again, while holders just keep their coins for a long term.

Yeah traders can become investors when they're in that situation, I also in that situation because the altcoins I bought is still floating loss until now, my intention is to buy and sell in less than a week, but I have hold the coins like 2-3 months.

When the traders unintentionally become investors, it means they're bad traders, they don't know when to take profit and when they have to cut loss.

How about those who focus only on spot trading, both in a bear and bullish market? They are just in for short-term profit; they buy and sell almost in an instant with little price change and take whatever profit they can get and reopen another trading position. Traders can be call investors also, the difference that lies between a trader and someone investing to hold is only the duration of time involved, an investor will find a perfect entry position to buy the market at dip and hold till the market rises before selling, this may take a longer time as the market may be volatile as usual, while a trader is such that uses that same bitcoin with other currency pairs for trading against each other, this can also be on a short or long term trading depending on the kind of trade such person is doing, so investment is strictly on bitcoin while trading involves two currencies in pairs against each other, but at the end, we can say one is a trader and the other an investor, and it is still right to call a trader and investors, because he is using his bitcoin invested upon to trade other currencies.

Charles already made a clear difference but then let me add my 2 cents opinion: Traders are gamblers... in gambling you don't want for your risk to get mature you are even afraid it may go against your odds immediately same as trading you don't spend much time on its but hang around watching it sometimes not even up to a day (24hrs) while investors even take decades to reap or even take the profit.

Hence the clear difference is there a trader is no investor and investors can be a trader but a trader is not an investor. it's not Viz vice not vice versa.

But you are merging them together by your statement, " some traders don't know that they are traders", meaning they are investors but in form of traders. From the above definition, both Bitcoin traders and holders are investors. However, it is generally perceived in the Bitcoin space that those who keep Bitcoin for a long time are investors. These set of people don't need to always monitor Bitcoin prices daily. But traders have the intention of selling anytime the price favours them.
