All I think about when I see this number is whether I can get to that stage or not.
Age can always be one of the things that is considered in this case and I realize that my age is not young anymore so in the end regardless of whether I will be at that price or not I will just stay focused on my goal because after all until now my goal is to make bitcoin a long-term investment and at least be able to make my finances more secure in my old age or retirement.

If it does get to the price of $1 million it is still very good but if not and I am already at retirement age why do I push myself too much because in this case I also want to enjoy life and indirectly enjoy the harvest of what I sowed in bitcoin during my youth.
Although there are some who may continue to pass on to their children or family but I personally want to prioritize my comfort first before in the end it might be left to the family if I am no longer there. But as long as I am alive and starting to be in the retirement phase then of course I want to enjoy what I invested earlier.

In answer to your question, I would like to say that even if Bitcoin reaches above one million dollars to five million ten million dollars, we will not be able to retire from Bitcoin. I do not believe those who say that Bitcoin will retire when it reaches one million dollars. Maybe if it reaches one million dollars, that person can sell his Bitcoin but he will not be able to retire from Bitcoin. From my side, if I say that I may be able to retire from Bitcoin the day I leave this world, besides, I will be with Bitcoin as long as I am alive, I will not be able to retire even if I want to because Bitcoin will bring me back to Bitcoin again and again.

Everyone has different interests, dreams, ambitions or goals...so it's no surprise that many people's goals are very different from ours. But one thing is we have to be realistic, know who we are, where we are and what our capabilities are...and set appropriate, achievable goals. Don't be delusional and set goals that we can't achieve even if we try for 100 years.

If we can't even own 1 BTC now, don't expect to make $1 billion in the coming years. Instead, set more realistic goals because there is a huge gap between saying and doing, and saying is easier said than done.

OP, your friend's hope seems positive to me. Every person has to retire after a certain period of time. Those who work in government jobs or those who do business retire after a certain period of time. They spend their later life with their own earned wealth.

However, it is very difficult to say when and how much Bitcoin will be. We can only hope, analyze and guess that Bitcoin will reach our desired level. It may reach our generation or it may reach the level of our next generation.

However, we can invest here even when we reach retirement age. Until we become physically disabled or lose our mental balance.

The elon comment is spot on. If you don't have a passion/drive to do something then I feel like even if you have all the wealth in the world whats the point. I think working is great.

Some people have been holding Bitcoin since $50 and they still have some Bitcoin left till today, now that's a lot of money, way higher than turning 100k to 1million dollars, because 100k turned to 1 million is just 10x, now compare 50 dollars to 107k right now, thats insane gain.

A piece of advice, there is no point in copying these set of people, they might be rich already in the real world, maybe that's even why they find it easier to hold Bitcoin all these while, you don't have to plan yourself the same way.

Don't also forget to live, all hard work without having a great life is a wasted life, family is important, love is important, create time for those who cares about you and also enjoy yourself to the fullest, every day is a risk, we don't know which will be the last.

Honestly if BTC hits a million and I’m holding a decent amount, I’d definitely take a step back from the typical 9 to 5 but not fully cease working.  I’d still want to accomplish something significant or maybe start a business.  Full retirement sounds wonderful but I think I’d grow bored fairly quick.

Freedom to control our lives is important. Seeing some family members working hard all through their lives is terrifying. Most of them didn't have enough time to spend with loved ones or do things they enjoy. I see reasons with your plans of abandoning 9-5 jobs for maybe business if Bitcoin gets to that amount. Full retirement are for people who have gotten to the age of seventy and above. I want retire early but it will be partial and not full time.
