A controversial opinion in VERY broad strokes:
POTUS is gearing up to drop taxes (maybe to zero) on couples earning less than $200K.
Who usually has de minimis taxes? Answer: poor people.

I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of couples of every western (or, indeed, any) European country would be classified as "poor" by the above definition.
You talk about NOW, not 12-24 mo in the future.
You have to skate where the "puck" will be, not where it is right now (some hockey great said it, maybe Gretzky).
The gist is in what you cut off

You are certainly not poor
now earning $200K/year, perhaps upper middle class.
However, POTUS thinks that you would be, and pretty soon, hence the need for no taxes on EVERYONE below 150-200K (depends on the day he or Lutnick talks about it).
Indeed, if $ drops 30% plus tariffs PLUS sales tax and voila..200K/year is not enough.
Phil was saying already that in NY area, you need 175K/year to be middle class..I hear the same about some places in CA.
Hence, perhaps look at your potential earnings and if you can't get to 200K pretty soon, try to accumulate assets , such as bitcoin, to get yourself some cushion.
i don't mean you specifically..btw
EDIT: I am talking about a family of 3-4, not an individual.
