I'm with vapourminer on this one.
I will drink whatever I want, whenever I want it. I won't let symbols and semantics dictate when to satisfy my taste buds.
It's just a culture clash. For italians, espressi and cappucini are like a part of their identity. And they do make the best of coffee, imho, for a reason.
It's not just enjoying taste, it's more like a tradition, with pros and cons that allow that friction regarding this "simple" topic.
Just my 2 cents.

Water quality is also very important to flavor of coffee.
USA water sucks. Fluoride and other chemicals are often added.
I use a whole house water filter
I then use a reverse osmosis water filter.
I have a Russian friend in Brooklyn he has been roast beans for years some time s he makes a very nice one.
As for Keruic I would send each and every one to the fucking moon. Worst coffee idea ever.
I am going to filter water for a pot of coffee as soon as I send this.
I use a percolator to make 1 liter which I then run through a filter into a thermos. As hot plates kill coffee.
Also black only no milk no sugar no creamers.
Have it with a cannoli if you want cream and sugar. Don't spoil the taste of black coffee
