Wrong, official site is monero.cc currently. Though it is undergoing a rehaul and you will do better getting your updates from here.

No, the info channel about this coin is rather narrow. It is mainly limited to this thread and the section on reddit.com, as far as I know.

You can restore a wallet from the deterministic seed so yes. I would certainly suggest attempting the process in test a couple of time before deleting your wallet file with all your savings on Wink

I would suggest keeping a copy of the old files in an encrypted archive. I personally archive -> SHA256 encrypt -> uuencode -> store as text in cloud. But one could be much less convoluted and still be safe. Wink

This is very preliminary, but it appears to me that all anonymous coins based on unlinkability will not be able to solve the very serious double-spend threat.

If am correct, this is both a major and fundamental solution for longest chain rule of proof-of-work, but it also eliminates unlinkability as a anonymity solution.

Sorry to say. Again this is preliminary, and needs more peer review.
