Morning all, hoping all you fellow cricket fans might be able to help me out with something...

I'm currently planning to host a competition for the Cricket World Cup - free to enter with bitcoin prizes up for grabs.

The idea was to run a basic match predictor, or bracket prediction competition, but we have done a few of those already and I was looking for a slightly different take on the format.

My question is - are there any particular aspects of cricket games that you prefer to bet on other than the money line?

Run Rate, fall of wickets, amount of boundaries, etc? I'd like to go with something a bit more fun than the usual 'who will win game x?' tournament.

I know I'm basically asking you to do my job for me but hey Roll Eyes

Finally we get to see some international cricket matches with a T20 match between Ireland and England later tonight and then the Ireland Tri-nation series starts on Sunday between the WI, Ireland and Bangladesh, I'm interested to see how the WI go in this series as we can get an idea on whether they will maintain their form from the previous series against England.

Did you even watch Pakistan play recently? They were decimated by Australia in the ODI series which is why I stand by my statement that they probably won't even make it to the quarters.

On top of all this, I heard that they did not select Amir(Not sure). They look pretty weak to me.

Pakistan is an unpredictable team. They are able to lift the cup and at the same time they may lose all of their matches even against the weakest team in the worldcup. So, I do not expect much from them.

There was a very interesting development during this week. ICC has expanded its T20 rankings, to include most of the associate members. However, 12 teams are not ranked, as they have not played the necessary number of matches (Cayman Islands, Cyprus, Estonia, Greece, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Cameroon and Bermuda).

Ireland performed phenomenally against England who were missing some of their top players, but still had a great set of players. It actually looked like Ireland might pull through at the end. Am not surprised since this team has tons of potential.

No one deserve permanent privilege. For example, look at Zimbabwe. They are still having the test status, despite performing below par for more than a decade now. IMO, there are far better teams out there, which deserve test status. On top of that because of their test status they receive 10 times more funding from the ICC, when compared to the other teams such as Nepal and Netherlands.

Who will be spending that much time to watch a match and in order to attract the global audience they have introduced T20 and it is an instant hit in several parts of the world.
