New Zealand have won the series after winning the second T20 by 4 wickets. It was New Zealand's middle order with the partnership from de Grandhomme and Bruce which set up the win for New Zealand with a 100+ partnership. Sri Lanka have shown that they are competitive but a few mistakes here and there have let them down in this series, if they took their chances it could of been a different outcome for them.
New Zealand was struggling at 38/3 when Seifert got out, but none of the bowlers other than Dananjaya were able to apply pressure on the Kiwi batsmen. Despite the fall of the wickets, the run rate never dropped and in the end they cruised comfortably to victory. Lasith Malinga as the capitan didn't made the difference. Even his individual performance was horrible, as he went for 39 runs from his 4 wicketless overs.
The tour is almost over now, with just one T20 match remaining. Despite having the home advantage, Sri Lanka couldn't use this opportunity to improve their rankings. The only bright spot was the sole victory against New Zealand during the Galle test.
BTW, there is some good news from South Africa. Promising spinner from Afghanistan, Waqar Salamkheil is set to play in the Mzansi Super League for Tshwane Spartans. He has played in the BPL and PSL earlier, but MSL will be a different level.
