Maybe when you do your pushups you should have some kind of a bitcoin-oriented mantra? like bitcoin to $100k, bitcoin to $100k... or something like that... just so you might remember.

Doing 120 pushups a day means I need to do about 70 days at 120 to reach an average of a hundred a day.
I may do more than 120 as I want to get to the 100 average a bit quicker than early Feb.
Yep. It is funny how once that any of us develop a habit, we can increase our abilities to to carry out the habit and to give it a higher and higher priority in our activities.
Where are you at on your level of steps? Are you still at the third step?
Personally I would recommend to work on just one goal at a time, even though surely you can do as much as you want, yet if you have the historical hernia issue, then you probably want to be doubly or triply assured that you are not overly straining yourself, so if you are trying to get to a point that your pushups average 100 per day, then it is likely better to keep those pushups at an easier level and then perhaps once you reach that quantity goal then maybe you can decrease your quantity and increase the difficulty (if you are still interested in increasing your difficulty, too).
In the meantime, your muscles will continue to build.
Every once in a while I realize that I am stronger than previously, even though sometimes the progress can seem like it is advancing slowly. Yesterday, I had realized that it had been getting close to 3 weeks since I had last done a long day, so I decided to do another long day (which is today).. which largely means that I am in the process of striving to do more than 10 pushup sets today.. when my regular pushup sets per day has mostly been 5 pushup sets per day, since mid-July.
I did one of those long days this weekend. I didn't wake up early like I planned, but I did do rounds of 100(10 sets of 10 on the minute) at 8,10, noon, 2, then at 4 I decided to switch to 50 pushups every hour. Then at 5 I wondered why I was doing this. A bit ashamed now. But hey, 45 sets of 10 on my first long day. Not too shabby.

Yep.. I just finished my long sets from yesterday which ended up being 13 sets, and so that hurt. I am feeling really sore today in terms of trying to do my 5 sets. Two more sets for today, one of them right after submitting this post.. Tomorrow, I should feel better.
I am thinking I will continue with 5 sets per day and every two weeks or so do a long set, until we reach $100k. Once we touch upon $100k, then i will do 20 to 25 sets in that day, and then I will consider that to be my last hurrah in terms of quantity of pushups or trying to break any personal best records.
After that long set (the kind of $100k personal goal), then I will go back to doing 5 sets per day while I regroup and consider what will be my next goal in regards to pushups... besides getting my total number of pushups within this challenge to reach the price, which seems inevitable (as long as I don't keel over first), just a matter of how long it will take.
