@Sithara007 Im happy for those teams thatll get a chance to participate in the World Cup, because World Cup is a precious tournament and I can understand why they wanted to be a part of it. However I dont think many players will be happy, as itll increase their playing time, and Im keen to know what the players think of this new format.
The players have welcomed the announcement and it is the businessmen who are not happy. If you want fewer matches, then you need to follow the format that was used for the 2007 World Cup. But the BCCI are afraid of this format, because they failed to qualify for the second round in 2007. When other sports are increasing the number of participants (football world cup now has 48 countries, up from 32), I don't understand the mentality of a section of administrators to limit the number of teams in cricket world cup. The current format of 10 countries is not a real world cup. How can a tournament having just 10 teams be termed as a "world" cup?
