    @Sithara007 and the ICC is okay with this?, isn’t this a manipulation of the rules because their own citizens don’t participate so how’s this allowed I don’t understand. Also do these player’s give up their country, and become permanent residents of Oman? if not then I feel this is not a legit way to make a team, maybe you’ll have a different perspective and I’m keen to know it.

    The ICC changed its rules sometime in 2005 or 2006. Previously only citizens were able to represent a country (as the case with all other sports, including football, volleyball, hockey.etc). And no. These players don't become permanent residents of Oman. They are usually given 3-year contracts, and if the contracts are not renewed, then they go back to their home countries. It is just like IPL franchises recruiting overseas players. A few of the players are sourced from expats already residing and working in Oman, but the vast majority (~80%) are recruited from overseas.

    Yes this is going in almost all Gulf countries cricket team and AFAIK same is with Canada cricket team, they also pick players from Pakistan, India, Bangla and SL (not sure they are permanent residents or just on work visa).
    ICC is just happy with this since now he has some more teams in his list and getting some more funds. I don't see any role of ICC in regulating cricketing affairs worldwide.

    Canada do have some citizens playing for them, in addition to the expats. John Davison (the hero of the Canada team in the 2003 world cup) was born in Canada and had Canadian citizenship at the time when he participated in the 2003 and 2007 world cups. But the irony is that John Davison becomes ineligible to play for Canada as per the revised criteria by the ICC. The new requirement states that a player needs to reside in the country for 6 months. Davison (although a Canadian citizen) resides in Australia and therefore he becomes ineligible to represent his country. On the other hand, non-citizens who are on work visa are now eligible to represent Canada. These rules just doesn't make any sense. They allow foreigners to represent a country, and at the same time prohibit natives from doing so.

    Excellent win for india today in match against afganistan , Finally they got their first win in this world cup, yes it seems a bit late because 99% chances are there that they still wont qualify for the semi finals. If this intent they have shown in the games before the results would have been different but that has gone, lets see if afganistan can beat new zealand now.

    I guess India now might have a chance to play the semis. I mean we are expecting a nail biting game today but Afghanistan doesn't played like they were playing in previous games. Rahul n Sharma batting were outstanding in this match. Nabi n janat are only noticeable in Afghanistan batting. Now if Afghanistan manage to beat NZ by big margin we might see India in semis

    @Sithara007 team India wasn’t keen to play the World Cup and it’s seen in the way they played in the first two matches, and Bumrah’s statement in which he says that player’s are suffering from bubble fatigue due to constant playing. Lastly Afghanistan is a unpredictable team, but defeating New Zealand is not a easy task too hence it’ll be very interesting if they can cause an upset and beat New Zealand.

    Surely newzealand are the favorites to win the game against afganistan, but afganistan team has the capability to beat any team specially in these conditions, I Hope mujeeb gets fit in the game against the newzealand because he along with rashid khand and nabi is a pretty dangerous bowling combination that can trouble any batsman.

    Yes Afghanistan has great team beyond any doubt. But when it comes to there performance against India, it really has created doubts. Seeing the rivalry of AFG players with Pakistan (since the are inducted in team by Ashraf Ghani which is no more in power) its very much likely that they want India to play the semis.

    Afganistan has qualified directly for the WC, they are no more associate team. They get so close to winning against Pakistan. I am sure they will do best to win against NZ.

    I am seeing more conspiracy theories when the T20 World Cup started which looks funny, now every other team will try and help India to qualify which is funny. The possibility of India getting qualified is really slim.

    The way New Zealand is playing against Namibia is worrying as i included them in a big parlay which is should have avoided as New Zealand is struggling to score big and if it is a modest total i fear Namibia could chase them.

    Well the whole indian population of 1.3 billion would be watching the todays match between newzealand and afganistan and would be praying for an afganistan win. Yes newzealand are favorites to win this match but afganistan has the capability to win this match as well, and if that happens it would be something like a miracle that india qualifies after those two losses.

    India already packed their bags knowing well what the result would be, BCCI announced a new coach in Rahul Dravid and these things were taken care during this period to reduce the backlash they were getting from the fans for the loss in the first two matches and they even announced that Rohit Sharma will be leading India in the white ball and the fate was in the ceiling.
    One more match and India will play against a small team and will score some crazy runs and then fly back home  Cheesy.

    India lost to the two test teams (Pakistan and Afghanistan) and were hoping that their victories against minnows like Scotland, Namibia and Afghanistan would be enough to secure a playoff spot. Unfortunately that didn't worked out for them. The strongest two teams from the group are now progressing to the playoffs. Indians can take care of Black Lives Matter, no-cracker movement for Diwali and other useless things after they return home. Anyway they seemed more interested in activism than playing.
