Ok. There was a rumor that match-fixing had happened in BPL matches and finally, BCB announced that they would support the ACU with the investigation. The worst match-fixing happened in the Dhaka vs Rangpur match and that's where the suspicion begins. I knew BCB had to step up with some kind of investigation.
According to cricbuzz,
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Saturday that it will form an independent inquiry body to support the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) in its ongoing investigations into the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the country's only franchise-based T20 tournament.
The ongoing season of the BPL is facing corruption allegations, with reports suggesting that the BCB's ACU has identified eight matches under suspicion of spot-fixing and match-fixing based on anonymous tips and media reports,
It has also been reported that 10 players are under the ACU's scrutiny, while four franchises are being closely monitored.
Of the 10 cricketers under investigation, six have represented the Bangladesh national team, two are uncapped Bangladeshi players, and two are foreign cricketers.
Among the franchises, Durbar Rajshahi and Dhaka Capitals have the most integrity flags, with 12 each, while Sylhet Strikers and Chittagong Kings have six and two, respectively.
According to media reports, suspected matches include the following:
Fortune Barishal vs. Rajshahi (January 6)
Rangpur Riders vs. Dhaka (January 7)
Dhaka vs. Sylhet (January 10)
Rajshahi vs. Dhaka (January 12)
Chittagong vs. Sylhet (January 13)
Barishal vs. Khulna Tigers (January 22)
Following reports of match-fixing and spot-fixing, BCB President Faruque Ahmed told Cricbuzz that the board would take strict action against anyone found guilty of wrongdoing.
A day after the announcement, the BCB reiterated its commitment to maintaining the league's integrity and stated its plans to establish an independent inquiry body to assist the ACU in its investigations.
