New format sucked.  Dont like the rising stars playing with the all stars.  Players like dalton knecht got more run than some all star starters.  Ypu should have to earn your way onto sunday nights game.  And honestly it was too short in terms of gameplay.  Scoring 40 in a format with little to no defense is pretty much less than a quarter of play time.  Too many breaks and celebrity air time it shoukd be only about the players here.  Overall meh, most pro sport all star games are broken.  Think baseball is the only one that gets play competitively.

Hopefully, you are right, and I think majority here will agree on what you say. I'm not sure about the Kevin Hart thingy or who wanted that to be included in the show, but yeah, there's a lot of cringe moment when he started to talk from the locker room to him and Shaq trying to entertain the crowd, but fans and players themselves didn't seems to like it. He keeps on interjecting himself and it was really annoying.

We understand that the NBA is trying to reinvent things, but having Kevin Hart? That's a bad decision by them.

This is not a roast show but a All Star game that everyone should be enjoying.

Him amd shaq have a history and with him being a comedic personality it made semse but agreed it failed.  There wasnt enough about the basketball as there shoukd have been.  I like how baseball puts the winner of the all star game as the conferemce that will have home field advantage for the world series.  Puts some post season risks attached to winning and losing.  I think thats the only way is to put post season advamtages towards the game.

You might be right. They have to show their worst so the next time they change it, it might look better to us.

Going back to the old ways might do the trick. I think there are many NBA fans who have been suggesting to use that format again and it might help kids to show how cool the true All-Star is.
They don't need prizes or whatever money-based trick to make the players competitive, perhaps just showing their seriousness with the All-Star could help out. The real problem is the management of each team, mostly owners. They don't want their star players to get hurt so they don't let them be competitive with this event to avoid injuries.
If the commissioner could talk to them then he might see where the real problem is. It's not the format, it's the players trying to keep themselves too safe.

For sure they don't want this to happen since each season and those special event is important for them to gather lots of views or fans attention. So maybe they just didn't expect the kind of approach of people and they are been badly criticized by people regarding on current implementation they do.

But for sure they would do more better next time since they want to show people that NBA still a good sports to watch.

The start of this was when players decided not to play defense, it was still east vs west when that started, but people were not playing defense at all, they were just having fun and so forth. However, the funny bit is that if we go back to those days, like just west vs east pure offense days, then we would have something better.

And that is why I agree that we should be going back, and that would get more viewers without a doubt. Because back when it first happened, it was just worse than what we had before, but now if we go back to that, it would be better than what we have now, so it would be a good feeling and people would like it. From dunk contest (except the winner) to three points to skills to every other game, including this new all star setup, everything sucked. NBA is bleeding out viewers, and if they keep this up, they are going to get even worse.

Hell yeah, now this is what I'm talking about. I LOVE that Giannis stepped up and said this, but not just at some basketball event in person, saying it over Twitter like this for everyone to see, this is exciting.  These two guys in particular can throw down like a MF too.  Hopefully these two stars will light a fuse under some other stars to join in.  So many guys I'd like to see participate, hard to decide whom exactly I'd want to see.  But if it was just these two, be more than fine with that!

I think LeBron’s absence from the All Star game was less about him having a hurt ankle and more about him protesting the format and wanting to get some time to prepare for a run with Luka. I think he’ll be playing tomorrow and trying to get the hang of playing alongside Luka in hopes of a playoff run.

Seeing those names to participate might gain interest from their respective fans, I guess even how long is the wait if things will go accordingly that still something worthy to wait for, Hahaha, Giannis though answer to an interview that it wasn't him and it's his son who posted that but for sure it's just a joke but considering him and Ja' plus the old champ Gordon and his great rival Lavine what an exciting dunk contest if things got materialize..

The dunk contest isnt like it was before. Before it was fun and entertaining and now no body watches it anymore because they bring guys from the g league to dunk. We need superstars like Giannis and Ja Morant and it will be much better. I dont know why the superstars arent intrested in the dunk contest or similar contests. We can see in the all star for example that Jokic just dosent care about it. Each year its just worst and worst
