According to rumors, Irving could potentially have a serious injury. If this is confirmed, it would be a big blow for the Mavs because they have no real chance without Davis and Irving. The Mavs are already in the 10th spot in the standings, and there is a good chance that they will drop even lower, i.e. they won't even make the play-in tournament this season.
After being into the NBA Finals, the Mavericks are having short of the players due to injuries especially their big men.
AD, Gafford, Lively, Powell, and now Irving are now injured, and Irving will be out for the remainder of the season with a Torn ACL injury which really is a big blow for the team.
Just for context, usually it takes around 6-9 months before a player can go back to play, and 12 months to fully recover on that injury. Of course, there are some factors it like severity of the injury, surgery, physical therapy, and individual healing capacity. Whatever the case is, I just hope that he will recover and come back pretty much the same as how he's playing.
I also just looked at his contract and he have a player option contract next season. Many are saying that he might opt out next season to be a free agent, but with this injury, he will decide to opt in on his final year of the contract to continue recovering because nobody wants to acquire an injured player, right?
