My worst nightmares have started to come true with the Bulls being one of the hottest teams in basketball right now. Yet another win against the Lakers, on some last second nonsense too. They are now in position to make the playoffs and do exactly what I don't want them to do, as they'll be out round one and get in to a lesser draft position. I put some satoshis on the Lake show last night expecting fully for them to not lose twice in a few days span. Didn't work out.
They're only 2 games behind the 7th seeded Hawks, and they won 8 on their last 10 games. They're really are hot right now, and if this continues, I'll not be surprised if they manage to get that 7th seed because that's their ceiling. As for the draft position, at the end of the day, they will not get any at the top draft pick, and they can't afford to tank to go out of the play-in tournament as well because they're 7.5 games above the 11th seed Raptors.
The only thing that they can do right now is to just play like they used to be, and if they will be out of the playoffs, they can just pray to get a high seed on the draft night because at the end of the day, being at the bottom of the standings doesn't guarantee you a top pick.
Memphis Grizzlies have reportedly parted ways with head coach Taylor Jenkins, according to Shams Charania on Twitter.
This is quite surprising to me, it feels all too sudden and I dont know where that came from, Grizzlies seems to be doing just fine, I know the past months have had its up and down for them, but considering where they were last season, and how much games the teams stars have missed this season as well, I believe Jenkins have done a solid job and deserves at least the post season but I guess thats how the cookie crumbles.
Apparently, I've seen some rumors online saying that the team has been dysfunctional and Jenkins can't control his players anymore. I'm not sure why they fired him a few games before the playoffs but whatever the case is, this will have an effect towards the team either positively or negatively.
What's worse with this firing is that, they called Jenkins on the management's office and fired him IN PERSON. I mean most of the coaches will just receive that they got fired through call or text, but this one is different as it happened in person. I believe there is a deeper reason why they fired him. It's too sudden indeed, but I'm not surprised to see a coach being fired despite a great record in the regular season. Just look at AJ Griffin of the Bucks when they fired him and got replaced by Doc "CHOKE" Rivers.
