Im seeing a lot of talk about Giannis going to the Lakers on social media. I guess the Lakers are the team that is mentioned anytime a superstar is hitting the market, but I could see them trading Luka for Giannis. If Luka doesnt seem thrilled about being a Laker long term and Giannis is, I make that trade all day.
Was there a time where the Lakers haven't been in the trade rumors when it comes to these all-star players? I mean even though we know that it's impossible, many are still including the Lakers are a destination for these all-star players. Even though we know that the Lakers doesn't have enough assets to acquire that player, many are still including them because... because they just want to which is funny.
Giannis for Luka? I would take that as well, but the Lakers don't have draft picks just for context. Aside from that, other teams have way better trade package than the Lakers could give to them. If the Bucks trade Giannis, that would mean a rebuilding season for them so they will get as many first round draft picks as they can for Giannis.
The Knicks are now 2-0 against the Celtics, the favorites to win the NBA championship. A really impressive and unexpected performance by the Knicks. Jayson Tatum grabbed 14 rebounds, but it still wasnt enough, as he only scored 13 points in 42 minutes. Now the series shifts to the Knicks home court. We might actually see a sweep if the Celtics cant win Game 3. The most unexpected thing in this years playoffs might just be the Celtics getting swept.
I also thought that the Celtics will win back-to-back championships, but looking at how the Celtics are playing, they really are living by the "Live by 3, Die by 3" way of playing. Their top 2 superstars have a garbage performance despite having a double-double from Tatum, it doesn't matter because they lost. Credits to Bridges for that steal in both Game 1 and in Game 2 that put them in a 2-0 lead ON THE ROAD.
Game 3 is a must win for the Celtics although I don't know they will do it, but it's a must win for them. For sure, Stephen A. Smith is jumping in excitement after seeing his New York team up 2-0 against the defending champion.
